Returning Students

Pre-registration is reserved for current students, allowing them to reserve a seat before registration opens to the general public. Current students are strongly encouraged to pre-register as many classes fill early and classes with low enrollment may be cancelled without notice.

Pre-registration opens approximately six weeks before the start of each session. Pre-registration for the autumn session opens in mid-May and remains open from May to late September.

Returning Students After a Break in Their Studies

<aside> 💡

We want to minimize inconvenience when welcoming back students after a break in their studies. However, it is very important to place returning students in the most appropriate level.

Students returning after a break of less than one year. These students may simply register for the next level.

Students returning after a break of one year or longer. Our registration team will refer you to an academic coordinator for an examination of your academic record and a short interview. The coordinator will determine the proper level of study, or whether a follow-up placement test is needed.

Students who did not sit for the final exam. Contact an academic coordinator to review your record and whether a make-up exam is appropriate. Make-up exam eligibility is reviewed case by case, and progressing to the next level depends on the final course grade, not simply passing the make-up exam. See Make-Up Exams.

Late Registrations - After the Term Has Begun

<aside> 💡

Registration remains open during the first four weeks of a 10-week term, the first two weeks of an accelerated term, and the first four days of an intensive term.

Students who register late assume the responsibility of catching up with their class. It is not the responsibility of the teacher to offer additional instruction and guidance to students registering late. The center offers additional support through its Tutoring Club.
