Who is eligible to take a make-up exam?

• If you failed or missed your final exam you are eligible to take a make-up exam if:
  • At least one of your in-class participation or in-class assessment scores is 65 or higher.
  • Your teacher believes you are capable of progressing to the next level (written comment from teacher).
  • You pay the 250 dirham make-up exam fee.

How much does the make-up exam cost?

• The make-up exam fee is 250 dirhams per person.
• Due to the high expense of offering individual make-up exams, we cannot combine members of the same family into a single make-up exam fee.

Your make-up exam fee may be waived for ****unavoidable medical, work or educational circumstances, provided you submit documentation when you apply for the exam.

• Medical certificate
• Work attestation explaining a specific conflict
• Educational exam attestation

Make-up exam fees are not waived for other scheduling conflicts, such as family holidays.

Why is there a fee for make-up exams?

Make-up exam fees are very expensive to deliver. Once the exam is reserved by staff and prepared for you, paper exams must be proctored by a teacher. Exams are then scored by a teacher, including your writing and speaking (Canvas exams). Administrative staff must then contact your teacher to obtain your in-class participation and in-class assessment scores. These must be calculated, then shared with the registrar. Finally, your final score must be entered into your personal profile. The 250 dirham fee covers only a portion of the expense to administer your make-up exam.
