How does a 30-second TikTok make someone famous overnight? Why do some trends go global while others disappear in days? Who really decides what’s “cool” today, people or algorithms? This course explores global pop culture in the digital age, examining how trends spread, how algorithms shape taste and identity, and how media influences the way we think, consume, and connect. Students will develop critical media awareness, cultural understanding, and communication skills through real-world case studies and creative projects.
